In 2017 and 2019 Akelius Foundation entered into an agreement with UNICEF Sweden.
The Foundation pledged to double the gifts and contributions that UNICEF Sweden received during December 2017, and November and again in December 2019.
The Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri wrote several articles about the campaign,
inspiring both companies and private persons to make donations.
When the 2019 campaign came to an end, UNICEF Sweden had received SEK 71 million.
UNICEF Sweden would typically receive SEK 50 million during this period.
The Foundation doubled the amount to SEK 142 million.
The campaign was a collaboration between the Foundation and the aid organizations UNICEF, SOS Children's Villages, Doctors Without Borders and UNHCR.
The Foundation has also developed a platform for children’s language education.
The platform is a cooperation between UNICEF and Akelius Foundation, through the subsidiary Akelius Languages Online GmbH.
The aim is for this platform to be used on a global level.
