Along with funding non-governmental organizations Akelius Foundation has also assisted people in need through a number of one-time events, including
- sending some seventy trucks with supplies to the former Soviet countries
- serving hundreds of thousands of soup meals in Sweden, Latvia, Moldavia
- constructing a laundry and baths in Riga
- supporting a children's home in Chisinau Moldavia
- organizing an art auction in cooperation with Bukowskis and Göteborgs Auktionsverk, Akelius donated art for over SEK 1 million
In 2013 the Foundation donated USD 100,000 to a school in the Bahamas.
The money was used to purchase computers for the school.
In 2015 the Foundation set out to assist incoming refugees to Sweden.
SEK 30 million was allocated to producing a language course in Swedish,
hiring tutors and making Cape East the best refugee camp in Sweden.
Since 2018 Cape East returned to being used as a spa hotel and is no longer a part of the Foundation.
One of the most important things in order for immigrants to be accepted into a new society and get a job is to learn the new language.
Refugees typically have to wait up to a year before they receive the decision on their permanent residence permit.
Only once they have been approved to stay can they study Swedish free of charge.
The Foundation developed a language course that anyone can use in order to learn a new language,
independent of language skills or languages spoken.
The course is available on computers, tablets, and smartphones, and is free for everyone.
Akelius Group has donated to other charitable entities that do not fit within the Foundation's remit.
Akelius Stiftelse, which was registered in Sweden, has donated mainly to The Salvation Army.
The most famous project, En salig samling, was an album of popular gospels performed in a nontraditional manner.
Such as a Russian traditional song in Swedish "En stad ovan molnen" performed by Rolf Wikström
or "Barnatro" performed by Sundström och Häckner
This project generated SEK 18 million to help children.
The album was the top seller in Sweden for six weeks.
Everyone participated in the work without any form of payment.
Akelius sponsored SEK 800,000, which was used to produce the albums.
